It’s not all that often that a rookie offensive lineman is impressive enough to earn the bulk of the first-team reps on the offensive line even before the start of preseason camp, but it sounds like that’s exactly what has happened for Tennessee Titans rookie offensive tackle JC Latham.
The Tennessee Titans selected Latham with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft in hopes that he could blossom into their starting left tackle at some point in the future, but it does not seem to have taken Latham long to earn that spot.
According to a report from Turron Davenport of ESPN, Latham took all the first-team reps at left tackle during Organized Team Activities and minicamp, and Titans offensive coordinator Nick Holz had some high praise for the rookie during a recent interview.
“JC has maybe the best energy of any person on this team,” Holz said. “His energy is infectious. He’s done a really nice job with his footwork. He’s improved and is playing under control. He’s so big and so strong.”
All signs point to Latham starting on the offensive line as a rookie. We’ll have to see how he performs for the team this year.
