It seems like Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders is always in the headlines for controversial reasons, and that was the case once again this week as a report indicates that players were absolutely furious with a decision he made this offseason.
According to a report from Athlon Sports, Deion Sanders forced his team to attend a Lil Wayne concert in support of Shedeur Sanders as he attempted to launch a career as a rapper. According to the report, the players were so angry that it was the “final straw” for a few players who decided to leave the team and enter the transfer portal.
“The Wayne concert was the final straw for a few players who hit the transfer portal,” a source told Athlon Sports. “When Coach Prime told us we all had to be there to support Shedeur as a rapper, they were not happy at all. To be honest, it was nothing but a huge distraction and Daddy Ball was being played.”
Needless to say, this is a pretty horrible look and an incredibly entitled move for Deion Sanders and it led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.
This is the kind of thing that hurt Bo Callahan’s draft stock too; just replace concert with birthday https://t.co/mZtve2Ph6O

Every single thing I see or hear about Shedeur Sanders would scare me away from drafting him https://t.co/5PuSH8HH7c

This is the most entitled thing I’ve ever heard.
So Deion tried to make his players support Shedeur as a rapper?!? Really?
Great team building, Coach Prime! 🤣
Way to alienate a ton of your players. Wow. https://t.co/1VglEkZEoZ

Deion making his players support Shadeur as a rapper, is the most entitled thing ever. That program is going to crash & burn this season https://t.co/fgkSZq6M30

Sanders and Colorado went 4-8 last season. They’ll obviously be looking to improve this season, but it sounds like he doesn’t always have the full support of the locker room.
