Former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton excelled at the NFL level after playing collegiately at a smaller school, Florida International University. And it turns out, his son, Eugene Hilton Jr. could end up being one heck of a player in his own right.
Hilton Jr. a four-star wide receiver prospect in his own right, has some extremely big shoes to fill if he wants to end up having even a fraction of the career that his father had. T.Y. just recently finished up his professional career, playing 11 seasons and reaching four consecutive Pro Bowls from 2014-2017.
That being said, at the same point of their respective football careers, Hilton Jr. is in a much better position than his father as a highly decorated recruit with a number of big-name schools offering him scholarships.
On Friday, Hilton Jr. made his official announcement on his commitment, joining the Big Ten to play for head coach Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin Badgers.

This can obviously be looked at one of two ways. Wisconsin hasn’t exactly been a breeding ground for star wide receiver talent in recent years.
But at the end of the day, it is a high-level Division-1 offer that presents Hilton Jr. with the opportunity to excel with a ton of eyes on him.
It will be interesting to see how he performs as a freshman. But if he is anything like his father, it would be foolish to bet against him having some real success.
