The NFL season is three months away, and the Washington Commanders will not play their hand.
No matter who their starting quarterback is poised to be, head coach Dan Quinn will not relinquish that information. During the team’s mandatory minicamp, the new Commanders coach refused to tell reporters who the team’s starting quarterback in 2024 will be.
Marcus Mariota Or Jayden Daniels? Right now, it doesn’t matter, because Quinn isn’t talking.

The Commanders selected Daniels out of Louisiana State University with the second overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft. Obviously, the Commanders have struggled to find a franchise quarterback for a very long time. Even when they’ve come close, the franchise has still found a way to squander any opportunities.
With new ownership and fresh faces around, Commanders fans and otherwise hope for a different future. But right now, we do not know who will lead the team in Week 1. Considering the secrecy, one could expect Washington to finally announce it either during the preseason or entirely after. Unless push somehow comes to shove.
