Derrick Henry RB Derrick Henry: Signed by Baltimore Ravens (previous team: Tennessee Titans)

Derrick Henry caught the NFL world’s attention this week. The new Baltimore Ravens running back follows an illustrious eight-year run with the Tennesee Titans. Henry led the NFL in rushing yards twice with the Titans, including his historic 2020 season, when he rushed for over 2,000 yards. Henry moves to AFC rival Baltimore, where he’ll team up with dynamic quarterback and former MVP Lamar Jackson.

Henry’s addition to the Ravens is a frightening one for opposing teams. It’s bad enough that defenses have had to deal with Jackson and his two-way style. The Ravens have now added the monstrous Henry to the mix. It’s not every day that you can pair a former league MVP with a former 2K-yard rusher. Henry might not be the same player he was then, but he has shown no signs of slowing down. Nor a desire to.

Henry spoke to reporters at minicamp this week and raved over how “fun” the offense is poised to be.

“It definitely brings a different aspect, because he is a dual-threat quarterback, and he’s dangerous with his legs just as he is with his arm. It’s going to be fun and a breath of fresh air not being the center of attention,” said Henry via The Athletic. “Knowing that eyes are going to be on him, as well. But I’m just excited to get to work and put the work in out here and let it all come together.”

Henry has rushed for over 9,000 yards in his career and has 90 career rushing touchdowns. He’s hit double digits in each of the last six seasons, and at his new home, he could have similarly great production with Jackson under center.

The NFL world had much to say over Henry’s comments.
