The New York Giants are a proud NFL franchise. They’ve won four Super Bowl championships in franchise history, one title coming in each decade from the 1980s to the 2010s. But since 2016, the Giants have been down on their luck. They’ve made the playoffs only once since the 2017 NFL season: Last year, they defeated the Minnesota Vikings but ultimately fell to the NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles.
New York made a few moves this offseason to improve. They acquired star pass-rusher Brian Burns in a massive trade with Carolina. They had a solid draft, picking star receiver prospect Malik Nabers in the Top 10.
It’s been a good offseason in New York. Wide receiver Jalin Hyatt seems to have figured that out, and he came off very confidently this week at minicamp.
“We have a playoff team,” Hyatt told reporters. Hyatt specifically talked up the receiver room where he, Nabers, and others are poised to make an impact.
Jalin Hyatt: “We have a playoff team.”
Hyatt thinks the Giants wide receiver room can be elite, especially with the addition of Malik Nabers. His presence should make things easier for everyone:

In fairness to Hyatt‘s confidence, it’s never been easier to be an NFL playoff team. They’re allowing seven now, which means that you don’t necessarily have to shoot for that 10-win plateau anymore just to assure yourself a spot. There are more routes to get there now with, not necessarily a top squad. A third-place finish in a competitive division could still land you a spot if you take care of the rest.
The Giants haven’t been in a serious playoff mode in a while. But with the right ingredients, you just never know.
