Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland came up with a big win in his co-main event fight at UFC 302 on Saturday night. And shortly after his victory, he publically addressed the results of Donald Trump’s hush-money trial, pledging his allegiance to the former U.S. President.
Strickland was able to pick apart his opponent Paulo Costa in the fight, largely cruising to a decision victory in the five-round fight.
In his post-fight interview after his win, Strickland had two things on his mind. Calling for the UFC to give Strickland a rematch against current UFC middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis. And to make it publically known that he believes that Trump’s recent conviction was a “d*mn travesty”
Strickland addressed Trump, who was cageside watching the fight, offering his support for Trump in his interview with longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan.
“President Trump, you are the man bro,” said Strickland. It is a d*mn travesty what they are doing to you. I’ll be donating to you, my man. Let’s get it done.”

Strickland’s personality certainly reflects his endorsement for Trump. So the public offering of support for him here certainly makes sense. He also didn’t stop there, even shaking Trump’s hand after the win and getting a picture with him.

It remains to be seen whether the UFC will give Strickland his desired rematch to reclaim his championship. But it is very clear that Trump has yet another endorsement from a professional athlete in Sean Strickland.
