Mike Tyson has been preparing for a highly anticipated boxing match against YouTube sensation Jake Paul. But unfortunately, the fight will not longer be happening, at least not on the anticipated date, due to a recent health concern for Tyson.
For those unaware of the situation, Tyson suffered a medical emergency on a plane ride this past Sunday to Los Angeles due to an ulcer flare-up. The plane was required to be stopped to assist Tyson.
Unfortunately, this means that Tyson will not be able to train as he expected for the fight. And it seems like this went into Tyson’s decision to pull out of the fight scheduled for July 20th. Netflix, who was set to broadcast the event to all subscribers to the streaming platform, announced this decision on social media.
Unfortunately Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will not face-off on July 20 as planned. Tyson’s recent ulcer flare up has limited his ability to train fully for the next few weeks.

Obviously, Tyson’s health comes first and foremost in this situation. So hopefully he is doing okay all things considered.
But at 57 years of age, there may be an argument that Tyson probably shouldn’t have taken this fight in the first place.
Yes, he is one of the greatest boxers to ever live. There is absolutely no debating that fact. But father time catches up to everyone. And this could be a sign that this fight simply isn’t meant to go on. Especially when you consider Tyson’s last sanctioned professional fight came all the way back in 2005.
Still, it seems like Tyson is still planning to fight Paul in the near future. Netflix added in their announcement that the fight will likely be rescheduled for a later date while Tyson gets his health under control.
Say what you will about Tyson at this point of his boxing career. But it sure seems like he still had a little more fight left in him.
