On Thursday afternoon, United States President Donald Trump ws found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records in his hush money trial in New York, marking the first time a former United States president has ever been convicted of a crime. And billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk is not happy about it.
Early Friday morning, Elon Musk took to social media to express his reaction to the verdict regarding Donald Trump, making it clear that he thought the decision was “motivated by politics, rather than justice” – which is obviously a baseless claim.
“Indeed, great damage was done today to the public’s faith in the American legal system. If a former President can be criminally convicted over such a trivial matter – motivated by politics, rather than justice – then anyone is at risk of a similar fate,” Musk said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
Musk has seemingly become increasingly more conservative-leaning in recent years. While he has not come out and publicly expressed support for any candidate in the upcoming presidential election between Trump and Joe Biden, he has made many comments criticizing Biden and regularly re-shares right-wing talking points, memes, and theories.
