Herschel Walker and Donald Trump Syndication: Online Athens News, Joshua L Jones

Back in 2022, Georgia Bulldogs superstar running back Herschel Walker challenged Raphael Warnock for Georgia’s Senate with key support from former United States President Donald Trump. But after he lost that election, it does not seem like Walker is willing to return the favor and use his campaign funds to support Trump.

According to a report from Politico, Herschel Walker is seemingly refusing to use more than $4 million in leftover campaign funds to support Donald Trump in Georgia, which is a key battleground state where Trump essentially must win if he is going to win the upcoming presidential election.

“Georgia and national Republicans, in dire need of money, are furious that Walker is sitting on more than $4 million in leftover campaign funds and seems to have no intention of using it to help the GOP or Donald Trump in the key battleground state in November,” Brittany Gibson reported for Politico this week.

“With the Georgia Republican Party nearly broke and the Republican National Committee regularly getting outspent by its Democratic counterpart, Republicans say Walker’s unspent millions could go a long way toward addressing the GOP’s cash crunch.”

Needless to say, this is pretty terrible news for Donald Trump and Republicans given that the Georgia GOP is in such desperate need of money, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media.

It will certainly be interesting to see how this situation plays out.
