The New York Giants very clearly need to improve on the offensive side of the ball this upcoming season. And even though the team is returning offensive coordinator Mike Kafka this upcoming season, it sounds like head coach Brian Daboll is seriously exploring the possibility of taking play-calling duties into his own hands.

During a recent press conference, Brian Daboll opened up about the possibility that he could call plays this offseason, saying that the team is exploring the possibility this preseason and he will make a final decision on the matter in the coming months ahead of the season.

“I’ve called plays for a long time,” Daboll said according to Pro Football Talk. “So it’s good to get out here at practice and do it, but there’s a whole process that goes through with it. There’s training camp. There’s OTAs. And I’ll make the decision, like I said back in March, that I feel is best.”

Obviously, this would be a pretty significant change for the Giants if Daboll did take over play-calling duties, and the possibility led to a lot of reactions on social media.

We’ll have to see what Daboll ultimately decides to do.
