Over the past several years, Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes has established himself as the biggest and brightest star in the league. But it sounds like he might not be the only member of the Mahomes family in the NFL in a few years.
Graham Walker, who just transferred to Rice where he will play wide receiver for the football team, is the half-brother of Patrick Mahomes. He is the biological son of Patrick Mahomes Sr., though he has been primarily raised by his mother Jessamyn Walker and his stepfather Gerry Howatt.
But like his older brother, he is a football star.
“He definitely is a Mahomes,” Mahomes Sr. said of Walker according to Fox 4 in Kansas City. “His stepdad did a great job with him, his mom did a great job with him.”
Mahomes Sr. made it clear that Walker also has dreams of playing in the NFL and that Patrick Mahomes is willing to help him reach that level.
“He’s supportive, as he always is. Hopefully in this offseason Patrick will get a chance to throw the ball to him, run routes, as Patrick always has his receivers come down,” Mahomes Sr. said.
We’ll have to see if that NFL dream ever comes true. In the meantime, he’ll be looking to carve out a career for himself at the college level.
