Miami Dolphins superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill clearly established himself as the most dominant and electric wide receiver in the league last season as he was a legitimate MVP candidate for most of the year. Unfortunately for him, however, he’s not currently paid like the top receiver in the league, but he wants to change that.
According to a report from Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Tyreek Hill is not happy with his current contract with the Miami Dolphins which is only set to pay him $19.765 million in cash this year – far less than other top receivers in the league will be making. As a result, he wants a new contract that pays him what he’s worth.
“Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the effort to address Hill’s contract began after the 2023 season ended. That’s when Hill had 1,799 receiving yards, despite a late-season ankle injury that derailed what seemed to be a likely 2,000-yard campaign,” Florio wrote for Pro Football Talk.
“The effort intensified after Eagles receiver A.J. Brown got his latest new contract. Brown got his prior contract when Hill got his current one, and Brown had three years left on his contract. Like Hill does.”
Obviously, this is a pretty significant demand from Hill, especially as the team works out a potential contract extension with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Needless to say, this led to a lot of conversation on social media.

Players sign longer term deals to mitigate injury or other risk then they are immediately upset when they aren’t paid their current market value. At a time when the NFL revenue is growing so much, they should sign shorter deals and bet on themselves and get more money every year.
