The Indiana Fever suffered yet another loss on Tuesday night, falling to the Los Angeles Sparks by a score of 88-82. And after the loss, Fever head coach Christie Sides appeared to call out superstar rookie Caitlin Clark during her postgame press conference.
Caitlin Clark carried her team for much of the game, scoring 30 points six rebounds, and five assists. But she did have one moment where she lost her composure and picked up a technical foul in the first quarter of the game, and her coach called her out for it during the postgame press conference.
“We’re spending too much time talking to the officials,” Sides said according to Indiana Fever beat writer Matthew Byrne of Clutch Points. “We’ve got to leave that alone. We’ve got to just play our game and let them do their job and not put it in their hands… We shouldn’t get technicals. Let me get the technicals.”
While Sides did not specifically call out Clark by name in her comments, it’s pretty clear who she was talking about considering Clark was the only person during the entire game that picked up a technical foul. And it sounds like Sides was not happy about it.
