The Philadelphia Eagles brought in a new quarterback this offseason when they acquired former Pittsburgh Steelers starting quarterback Kenny Pickett in a trade. And it sounds like Pickett is happy to be with his new team.
Obviously, Kenny Pickett is not expected to be the starter for the team as Jalen Hurts has the starting role locked down, but it does sound like he is happy to be joining such a talented roster.
“It’s been great,” Pickett said according to Rob Kuester of NBC Sports Philadelphia. “Obviously, Jalen’s an incredibly talented player. He’s played in a similar system, and we’re kinda all learning this new one together. So the communication back and forth in the quarterback room has been awesome with the quarterbacks coaching us and Kellen. I couldn’t ask for a better room, better staff to be working with. Obviously, the talent around this team is pretty special, so it’s a great group to be in.”
The Steelers decided to move on from Pickett after two years. We’ll have to see how he is able to revitalize his career with the Philadelphia Eagles and how he performs in his new role as Hurts’ backup quarterback this season.
