Chicago Bears superstar wide receiver DJ Moore was not shy about expressing his opinion that the team should keep Justin Fields instead of selecting quarterback Caleb Williams in the NFL Draft. But now that Williams is officially the team’s new quarterback and Fields is with the Steelers, it sounds like he’s embracing his new quarterback.
During a recent press conference, DJ Moore made it clear that now that Caleb Williams is his quarterback, he’s ready to support him any way he can.
“Business is business,” Moore said according to CBS Sports. “I seen it coming. So, at the end of the day, he was the quarterback last year, now we got Caleb. We’re gonna ride through H-E-L-L and back with him, so I’m just looking forward to seeing what he put out.”
And it sounds like Williams has already been quite impressive during his first few practices with the team.
“You can see that the natural leadership is there, the natural arm talent is there,” Moore said. “Everything about him, it’s just always a positive thing. Even when he has a bad play, he’s looking to learn real fast right after. That’s all you can ask of him, for him to quickly forget but also learn at the same time.”
Moore had the best season of his career last season with Fields as his quarterback. We’ll have to see how he performs this year with Williams throwing him the ball.
