Denard Robinson’s time with the Michigan Wolverines has come to an end.
According to MLive.com’s Aaron McMann, a Michigan spokesperson has confirmed Robinson’s departure from the program after serving as the Wolverines’ assistant director of player personnel for the past two years. It is unclear whether the 33-year-old was terminated from his position or left voluntarily.
Robinson’s departure from the program comes one month after he was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated (OWI). The 2010 Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year was reportedly involved in a single-car crash in Ann Arbor, with charges pending the results of a toxicology report.
Robinson was suspended by Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore following his arrest and a police investigation reportedly remains ongoing. He is the second Wolverines staffer to leave the program following an OWI arrest this offseason after defensive line coach Greg Scruggs resigned in March.
A four-star prospect coming out of Florida’s Deerfield Beach High School in 2009, Robinson proved to be one of the most dynamic players in Michigan history. In four seasons with the Wolverines, he completed 57.2 percent of his passes for 6,250 yards, 49 touchdowns and 39 interceptions, while adding 4,495 rushing yards and 42 rushing touchdowns on the ground.
The Jacksonville Jaguars selected the 2010 Big Ten MVP in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Robinson spent four seasons playing running back for the Jaguars, rushing for 1,041 yards and five touchdowns in 54 regular-season games.
