The New York Giants did not select a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft as the team seems set to move forward with Daniel Jones as the starting quarterback at this season and potentially beyond, but it sounds like the team is still interested in adding some depth at the quarterback position.
According to a report from Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the New York Giants have decided to bring in quarterback Nathan Rourke this offseason to add a little bit of depth to their quarterback room.
“The #Giants claimed QB Nathan Rourke off waivers from New England, per source. Another new home for the former CFL star,” Pelissero said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Though he spent time with the New England Patriots and the Jacksonville Jaguars last season, Rourke has never appeared in a regular season NFL game.
Rourke joins a pretty full quarterback room with the Giants that already includes Jones, Drew Lock, and Tommy DeVito – all three of whom have experience as starting quarterbacks in the NFL.
Needless to say, it seems like it would be a long shot for Rourke to actually make the team’s final roster, but he’ll get a shot.
