The Formula 1 Grand Prix on Sunday in Miami featured a guest appearance from former U.S. President and 2024 Presidential candidate Donald Trump. And while Trump obviously is a very polarizing character, he received largely praise from the fans in attendance.
Margo Martin, the Deputy Director of Communications for Trump, took to social media on Sunday before the F1 race to show Trump on the track, receiving a massive ovation from the fans in the stands.
A loud “USA” chant also began to break out once Trump began to wave at the fans.

It’s not exactly the most surprising thing to see Trump receive such a welcome ovation in the state of Florida. Trump has always been popular in the state, where his Mar-a-Lago resort resides.
Still, it is interesting to see the state supporting him so much despite all of the controversies that have followed him as of late, most recently his hush money trial in New York City.
Trump also seemingly does have quite a bit of popularity amongst sports fans in general, perhaps most famously amongst fans of the UFC. Trump’s close relationship with UFC President Dana White is well documented. And the former president has been a frequent attendee of the fight promotion over the years.
