Last season, wide receiver Rashee Rice was the leading wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs throughout the regular season, more than doubling the production of any other wide receiver on the team’s roster. But it sounds like the team is going to be without him for a significant portion of the upcoming NFL season.
Last month, Rashee Rice was involved in an automobile accident stemming from illegal street racing. While the legal issues surrounding the incident are still taking shape, the NFL can suspend Rice for his involvement in the incident under the league’s personal conduct policy. And NFL insider James Palmer expects him to receive a pretty hefty suspension.
During a recent appearance on Steve Smith’s Agent 89 Breakdown Show, Palmer predicted that Rice would be suspended for “at least” half of the upcoming NFL season.

Rashee Rice *IS GONNA* be suspended and that they’re [Chiefs] *EXPECTING HALF A SEASON AT LEAST* 🫣🫣 pic.twitter.com/UTdtRdumP1

“He’s gonna be suspended. Let’s just put it out there,” Palmer said. “Half the season at least.”
Obviously, this is some pretty horrible news for the Chiefs as he was a huge part of the team’s offense last season, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.
HALF THE SEASON AT LEAST?! https://t.co/utrqqfJqMI

Recall that Deshaun Watson got 11 games
Moral of the story, I guess — never underestimate the NFL’s ability to craft utterly absurd suspensions based solely on the level of embarrassment the player causes the league https://t.co/K2RKckVl0I

This is insane. If Rice played for any other team he maybe gets 2 games.
The league will do anything they can to try and stop the Chiefs from winning. https://t.co/FaOMiA81WD

if it's half a season *at least* they should sign Tyler Boyd. no joke. https://t.co/kNlW78BEsc

*sighs* just when we have a solid WR core https://t.co/kuHIhAQPnK

This is not great. If it’s for this season… like a lot of people are saying, we should bring in a vet WR… 🫠https://t.co/9WO9nDfbAT

Rice totaled 938 receiving yards and seven touchdowns during the regular season and added 262 yards and a touchdown in the postseason. The Chiefs will undoubtedly miss his production.
