Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has long maintained that he would like to finish his career playing alongside his son Bronny James. And as LeBron nears the end of his career and Bronny is now eligible for the upcoming NBA Draft, it sounds like the Lakers are willing to select Bronny James in the upcoming NBA Draft if it means keeping LeBron.
According to a report from The Athletic this week, the Lakers are expected to explore some trades and free agent signings in an attempt to build a winning roster around LeBron James this upcoming season. Not only that, but they are also willing to select Bronny in the upcoming NBA Draft to satisfy LeBron.
“What’s more, team sources say the Lakers are very open to the prospect of helping LeBron fulfill his dream of playing with his son Bronny by potentially drafting him,” The Athletic reported this week.
Back in 2022, LeBron indicated that he wanted to play alongside Bronny before he retired, telling The Athletic that “my last year will be played with my son.”
Bronny had an up-and-down season with the USC Trojans last year, but The Athletic reports that it is likely he would still get drafted by an NBA team even if it wasn’t the Lakers.
