Arch Manning has been waiting for his chance to shine ever since he signed with the Texas Longhorns ahead of the 2023 season. He got his chance in Saturday’s spring game, and he certainly made the most of that opportunity.
During Saturday’s scrimmage, Arch Manning put up big numbers in front of a packed stadium, completing 19 of his 25 passes for 355 yards and three touchdowns, two of which were 75-yard bombs. He also showed what he can do with his legs a little bit, showing off his scrambling ability.
Manning looked every bit like the superstar quarterback that he was expected to be when he signed with the Longhorns out of high school. Manning, the nephew of NFL legends Peyton and Eli Manning, was the No. 1 rated quarterback in the 2023 high school recruiting class and has been considered one of the top future NFL Draft prospects since before he even entered the college ranks.
Though he did not see much action in his first season with the Longhorns, serving as the third-string quarterback behind Starter Quinn Ewers and backup Maalik Murphy throughout the season, he’ll likely see more reps this season with Murphy deciding to transfer from the program this offseason.
