The Seattle Seahawks made a pretty surprising decision to part ways with longtime head coach Pete Carroll this offseason, replacing him with former Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald. And it sounds like Macdonald is making some pretty significant changes to the team facilities.
Earlier this month, Macdonald removed the basketball court inside the auditorium of Seahawks HQ, but it sounds like he made another even more significant change according to Brady Henderson of ESPN.
“The removal of the basketball hoop inside the auditorium at Seahawks HQs isn’t the only notable change to the VMAC under Mike Macdonald. Leonard Williams told us the wall that previously showed blown-up pictures of star players/famous moments from the Carroll era is now blank,” Henderson said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Williams told Henderson that the team is “obviously going to respect tradition and the history of the Seahawks, but I think it’s given us a clean foundation to create whatever we want to be. We’re not chasing to be like any other team that’s been here before. We want to create our own identity.”
Still, it’s a pretty significant change for Macdonald to make.
