Throughout her four-year career with the Iowa Hawkeyes, Caitlin Clark has played in some massive games and come up with clutch shots in huge moments. But apparently, there is one thing that can make the basketball superstar a little bit nervous – speaking on television.
This weekend, Caitlin Clark made a cameo appearance on Saturday Night Live ahead of Monday night’s WNBA Draft where she is expected to become the No. 1 overall pick. And Clark admitted that she was pretty nervous for her appearance on the show.
“I don’t get nervous for basketball games,” Clark said in a recent interview with the Today Show. “But going in front of a live audience on national television, doing something outside of your comfort zone, is a little scary. My heart was pounding out of my chest.”
The good news is that Clark will now be getting back to her comfort zone as she is widely expected to be selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever.
The WNBA will certainly be a new challenge for Clark as she faces off against the best players in the world, but it sounds like she’ll be less intimated by the WNBA than she was SNL.
