Throughout her legendary four-year career with the Iowa Hawkeyes, superstar scorer Caitlin Clark became known for her three-point shooting ability as she seemed to be willing to shoot from nearly anywhere past the half-court line. And she recently opened up a little bit about what’s going on in her head when she takes some of those long shots.
During a recent interview with the Today Show, Caitlin Clark was asked about some of the absurdly long shots that she takes during games. And while she admits that sometimes she’s a little further from the basket than she thinks she is during those shots, she puts in a lot of work to make sure she can hit those long three-pointers.
“I think sometimes, I feel like I’m closer to the basket than I really am,” Clark said during the interview with the Today Show.
“But also, those are shots I practice and work on every single day,” she added. “It’s not like I just take the court for a game and just start launching those. It’s what I work on in the gym every single day with our coaches.”
Clark will now take her prolific shooting ability to the WNBA where she is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming WNBA Draft on Monday night.
