The Buffalo Bills shocked the NFL world on Wednesday by trading Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans.
Shortly after the news of the blockbuster deal was first announced, the Bills took to X (formerly Twitter) to send a message to their now-former All-Pro wide receiver.
“Thank you, 14,” the team wrote, along with a graphic featuring Diggs in his Bills uniform.

Buffalo first acquired Diggs from the Minnesota Vikings ahead of the 2020 season. In four seasons with the Bills, the Maryland product established himself as one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, recording 445 receptions for 5,372 yards and 37 touchdowns in four seasons, earning first-team All-Pro honors in 2020, second-team All-Pro honors in 2022 and four consecutive Pro Bowl appearances.
During Diggs’ final year in Buffalo, however, his relationship appeared to sour, especially as his production noticeably declined in the second half of the season. Just hours before he was traded to the Texans, the 30-year-old took to social media to reply to a post implying he wasn’t critical to quarterback Josh Allen’s success.
“You sure?” Diggs replied to a post stating “Does Josh Benefit from having a top tier wide receiver, yes. Is he essential to his success, no.”
In heading to Houston, Diggs will team with quarterback C.J. Stroud and wide receivers Nico Collins and Tank Dell to form one of the most potent offenses in the NFL. Meanwhile, the Bills will be looking to rebuild their own wide receiving corps after also losing Gabe Davis in free agency.
