On Wednesday morning, the Buffalo Bills agreed to trade superstar wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans. But the trade details seem to paint a pretty brutal truth about Diggs’ relationship with the team.
Despite trading away one of the most productive and consistent wide receivers in the league, the Buffalo Bills received just a 2025 second-round pick in return and will now face a dead cap hit of nearly $30 million even though he won’t be on the team. Additionally, the team is now extremely depleted at the wide receiver position.
As NFL analyst Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus points out, those trade terms make it pretty clear that the team was desperate to part ways with Stefon Diggs.

It’s obviously not a great situation for the Bills as they lost one of their top players and got very little in return.
