There are rumors and reports that USC Trojans guard Bronny James – the son of NBA megastar LeBron James – has decided to transfer from the program. But LeBron wasn’t willing to confirm that during a press conference this week.
On Tuesday evening, longtime college hoops reporter Dick Weiss reported in a since-deleted post on social media that Bronny James was planning to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
“USC freshman guard Bronny James is entering the transfer portal. good for him. needs to get away from the Hollywood hype. best of luck to LeBron’s kid,” Weiss said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter, before ultimately deleting the post.
During an interview session from the Los Angeles Lakers locker room, LeBron James did not confirm the report, but he certainly didn’t deny it either.

“I don’t know where it came from,” LeBron said. “At the end of the day Bronny is his own man and he has some tough decisions to make. When he’s ready to make those decision, he’ll let us all know. As his family we’re going to support whatever he does.”
Bronny appeared in 25 games for the Trojans this season, making six starts. He averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
We’ll have to see if he does indeed decide to enter the transfer portal.
