Caitlin Clark’s time at Iowa isn’t over just yet, as she’ll look to cap her storied college career with a national title next weekend.
That, however, hasn’t stopped the NBA from considering plans for college basketball’s biggest star, who is expected to be selected by the Indiana Fever with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft.
Appearing on FanDuel TV’s Run It Back on Tuesday, Shams Charania discussed the possibility of the league holding another Steph Curry vs. Sabrina Ionescu 3-point contest at next year’s All-Star Weekend. And in doing so, Charania revealed that the NBA is already considering making it a 2 vs. 2 affair, with Clark and Klay Thompson joining the event.
“At this point, Stephen Curry vs. Sabrina Ionescu is very likely for next year,” Charania said. “And I’m told with Caitlin Clark and potentially Klay Thompson to make it 2V2. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, the Splash Brothers. I’m told Steph Curry has specifically brought up potentially having Klay Thompson in this competition for next year.
“Could a guy like Damian Lillard be a candidate as well to join Steph Curry? But those two guys potentially against Sabrina Ionescu and Caitlin Clark, those are all conversations that are going to continue to go on over the coming months and as we get into the 24-25 season.”

As Charania’s comments indicate, such plans are hardly set in stone and plenty can change between now and next February. But the idea of two of the greatest shooters in NBA history squaring off with two of the WNBA’s young promising stars in a 3-point contest is certainly intriguing and could provide some much needed firepower to the NBA All-Star Weekend.
