Last season did not go the way Bryce Young or the Carolina Panthers had hoped after the team selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. But Panthers receiver Adam Thielen doesn’t think that was necessarily all Young’s fault.
During a recent interview, Adam Thielen revealed the brutal truth about Bryce Young last season, claiming that “everything was stacked against him,” which contributed to his struggles.
“Yeah, well, I’ll say this: I mean, I think everything was stacked against him last year, unfortunately,” Thielen said in a Wednesday interview on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football. “And I’m not gonna get into detail as to why that was, but I’m just really excited for him to have a fresh start, an ability to have a good coaching staff that’s gonna put a good plan together to help him be successful, and also to put people around him to help him be successful.”
Thielen obviously declined to go into specifics, but it was pretty clear that it was a rocky season for the Panthers organizationally as the team ultimately fired head coach Frank Reich in the middle of the season.
We’ll have to see how Young performs next season with a new head coach and a year of NFL experience under his belt.
