New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll and team general manager Joe Schoen were not in attendance in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to watch Tar Heels star quarterback Drake Maye participate in his pro day workout on Thursday, but it sounds like the team is still interested in getting to know him.
According to a report from Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen will meet with Drake Maye “in the coming days” after attending the pro day workout for Michael Penix Jr. on Thursday, instead.
“The #Giants have a presence here at UNC today but Brian Daboll went to UW to see Michael Penix. Sources say the team will work out and meet with Drake Maye in the coming days,” Garafolo said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
The Giants just signed starting quarterback Daniel Jones to a new contract before the start of the 2023 season, but the team has made it clear that they are open to selecting a quarterback in the draft this season if there is one they like.
We’ll have to see whether or not that turns out to be the case.
