The Syracuse Orange have built a reputation over the years for putting out a number of talented players that go onto the next level. But unfortunately on Tuesday, one former player has seemingly gone the other direction, finding himself getting arrested in connection to now infamous hip-hop artist Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
For those unaware of the current controversy surrounding Combs, he had two properties in Los Angeles and Miami get raided by federal Homeland Security agents on Monday in connection to an ongoing sex trafficking investigation by federal authorities in New York.
Shockingly, former Syracuse basketball player Brendan Paul seemingly has quite a close relationship with Combs, recently being named a “drug mule” and “close confidant” to Combs in a recent lawsuit against the rap music star.
According to TMZ, Paul was booked on two separate drug charges after federal agents intercepted Diddy’s plane at the Opa Locka Airport in Miami.
The charges include one count of possession of suspected cocaine and another of possession of suspected marijuana candy, both of which are felonies if Paul ends up getting convicted.
Paul isn’t a player who is remembered all that much on a mainstream level for his production at Syracuse. In two seasons, he played in just 17 total games, averaging under two minutes a game in both of his years within the program.
However, Syracuse fans remember him quite well, and couldn’t believe that he found himself involved in this situation.
How does this happen? Did the kid get hired to be an assistant to p diddy and then one of the jobs is hauling drugs ?

There’s got to be a Brendan Paul documentary in the works.

How Diddy and Paul ended up becoming close isn’t exactly clear. But unfortunately, their relationship has led to a whole lot of trouble for the former Syracuse player.
