Following the 2024 college football season, Colorado Buffaloes star quarterback Shedeur Sanders and do-it-all star Travis Hunter will be heading to the NFL Draft. But it doesn’t sound like head coach Deion Sanders is going to be content to just allow them to land with any team.
During a recent appearance on the “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast, Deion Sanders claimed that both Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter will be top four picks in next year’s draft and suggested that he would make some moves to avoid them ending up in certain cities with certain teams.
“Now, all this is subjective because I know what I want, kind of want them to go. And let’s not forget Shilo [Sanders]. But I know where I want them to go. So there’s certain cities that it ain’t going to happen. Going to be a Manning — I’m sorry, it’s going to be an Eli,” Sanders said on the podcast according to On3.
Sanders is referring to Eli Manning, who famously threatened not to play for the San Diego Chargers to force a trade to the New York Giants, instead.
Of course, that’s assuming that both Shedeur Sanders and Hunter end up as elite draft prospects with that kind of leverage. We’ll have to see how it all plays out.
