Ever since he took over as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, Deion Sanders has liked to build his roster by using the NCAA transfer portal as he often targets players who choose to leave top programs across the country in search of more playing time. And it seems like he’s done that once again with a former Ohio State player.
This week, Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes landed a commitment from former Ohio State Buckeyes tight end Sam Hart who entered the transfer portal following the conclusion of the 2023 season.
“Comin home #GoBuffs,” Hart said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Hart originally signed with the Ohio State Buckeyes out of high school where he was rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 19 overall tight end in the 2021 high school recruiting class. But after failing to earn regular playing time with the Buckeyes throughout his first three seasons in the program, it seems he wanted to go elsewhere.
The decision to sign with the Buffaloes makes sense given that he grew up in nearby Aurora, Colorado. We’ll have to see how he performs for the Buffaloes in the next chapter of his college football career.
