When the Ohio State Buckeyes added Kansas State transfer quarterback Will Howard this offseason, many expected that third-year quarterback Devin Brown would be leaving the program as a result. But it sounds like he has no intention of transferring.
During an interview on Monday, Devin Brown had a pretty fiery response to everyone expecting him to transfer, making it clear that he will not be leaving the program anytime soon.
“I’ve said it through and through, I’m a Buckeye, and I’m here to compete no matter what,” Brown said according to Eleven Warriors.
Brown fully intends to compete for the starting job and had some harsh words for anyone expecting him to leave if he fails to win the starting job in the spring.
“Honestly, I think people are cowards. I think people have this thought in their own heads that I’m gonna leave and I’m a quitter, but that’s never been me,” Brown said. “These people live wherever, in their mom’s basement, saying stuff about me and they don’t know [anything]. Excuse my language, but they don’t know anything. They don’t know who I am, they don’t know who I’ve been, and that’s always who I’ve been.”
Brown will have a chance to back up this confidence in the spring as he competes with Howard and the other quarterbacks for the starting job.
