Last season did not go the way the Pittsburgh Steelers had hope for quarterback Kenny Pickett as he did not show considerable improvement from his rookie season leading the team to ultimately roll with Mason Rudolph as the team’s starter at the end of the season. Head coach Mike Tomlin then declared that there would be a competition for the starting quarterback role this offseason.
Despite all of that, it sounds like the Steelers still do have faith in Kenny Pickett going forward.
According to Alex Kozora of Steelers Depot, Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Omar Kham expressed some strong confidence in Pickett during an interview with reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine this week.
“I have full faith in Kenny,” Khan said via Steelers Depot. “He’s shown us some good things. Obviously, there were some issues with the offense, and I’m excited about the impact that Arthur Smith’s gonna have on him. Arthur’s very optimistic about Kenny. I know they’ve communicated.”
There have been rumors and reports that the Steelers would be interested in bringing in a veteran quarterback this offseason to compete for the starting role, but it sounds like the team does still support Pickett going forward.
