The long-term future of star wide receiver Tee Higgins with the Cincinnati Bengals is quite a bit uncertain as the two sides have not yet agreed to terms of a contract extension. But after the team decided to place a franchise tag on Higgins, he will be returning to Cincinnati for at least one more season – and it sounds like the Bengals are happy about that.
On Monday, the Cincinnati Bengals officially announced that they had designated Tee Higgins as their franchise player for the 2024 NFL season. And following the news, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor had a pretty clear message to Higgins about how excited he is to have the star receiving returning for another season.
“Tee has done an outstanding job for us since we drafted him in 2020,” Taylor said according to the Cincinnati Bengals team website. “I’m glad that he’ll continue to be a big part of our offense and our team.”
Higgins originally joined the Bengals as a first pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft – the same draft where the team selected star quarterback Joe Burrow with the No. 1 overall Pick.
Burrow has played his entire career with Higgins, so it’s clear he’ll be happy to have him back next season.
