As Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebel prepare for the 2024 college football season, it sounds like they’ve made a pretty significant addition to the coaching staff, hiring former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterbacks coach Corey Dennis.
According to a report from recruiting analyst Zach Berry of On3, Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss are hiring Corey Dennis to their coaching staff.
“Former Ohio State QB coach Corey Dennis is set to join Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss staff. He spent nine years with the Buckeyes and coached QBs the last four years for Ryan Day, working with Dwayne Haskins, Justin Fields and C.J. Stroud,” Berry wrote in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Dennis, who is the son-in-law of three-time national champion head coach Urban Meyer, was a member of Ohio State’s coaching staff for nine years after initially joining the coaching staff as an intern in 2015.
In 2020, Dennis was promoted to a full-time assistant coach, becoming Ohio State’s quarterbacks coach under head coach Ryan Day. He was removed from that role following this season as the Buckeyes decided to hire a full-time offensive coordinator with former UCLA head coach Chip Kelly joining the coaching staff to take on that role.
Dennis is expected to be an analyst for Ole Miss and will not be a full-time head coach.
