Baltimore Ravens star safety Geno Stone is coming off of the best year of his entire career as he heads into free agency. And while he acknowledges that he would like to return to the Ravens next season, it doesn’t sound like he’s planning to give any hometown discounts.
During a recent appearance on the NFL Network, Stone got pretty brutally honest about his upcoming free agency decision, making it clear that while he considers Baltimore his home, he will be looking for the best opportunity and fit for him, saying “business is business.”
“At the end of the day, Baltimore is always home, but business is business,” Stone said according to Pro Football Talk. “You know that being in this league this long. I’ve been through it all, especially my rookie year. I just want to be somewhere I’m appreciated, you know, who wants me and for me to be a starter, whatever it may be. I just want my value to be there.”
Stone will undoubtedly receive a lot of interest around the league as he enters free agency after he totaled 68 tackles, seven interceptions, and nine passes defensed during the 2023-24 NFL season – all of which were season highs. We’ll have to see where he ultimately lands.
