Luke Getsy was just recently named the new offensive coordinator of the Las Vegas Raiders and has yet to even meet Aidan O’Connell, who figures to be the team’s starting quarterback for the foreseeable future. But O’Connell has still left quite an impression on Getsy from afar.
This week, Luke Getsy had some pretty high praise for Aidan O’Connell as he claimed that he can tell a lot about who he is as both a player and a teammate based on the way the team rallied around him when he became the starting quarterback midway through the season.
“Without even knowing him or talking to him about anything yet, I could tell you right now that guy has got to be someone that prepares his butt off and is a great teammate,” Getsy said according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic. “I mean, for the guys to rally around him the way that I saw from the outside looking in, and for him to go perform in the way that he did in the end of that season, that just speaks volumes. So, I’m excited to get to know him, excited to work with him for sure.”
We’ll have to see how Getsy and O’Connell are able to work together this upcoming season.
