Donald Trump has always been defensive about his figure as he’s constantly maintained he’s an elite athlete even in his old age.
We got another taste of that earlier this week. A viral photograph, which you can see above, made the rounds on the internet appearing to show a corpulent Trump swinging at a golf ball.
Trump has been an avid golfer before, during, and after his presidency.
However, the 45th president took to Truth Social, his answer to Twitter, to dispel the authenticity of the photograph.
“The Fake News used Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) to create the picture on the top left,” Trump wrote in the post. “These are despicable people, but everyone knows that.
“The other pictures oar eme hitting Golf balls today to show the difference. Sadly, in our Country, Fake News is all you get!”
It’s not clear where the viral photo is alleged to have taken place, though Trump has been known to stick to properties within his renowned portfolio.
Despite the unflattering viral photograph, Trump is leading former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination of 2024.
If he defeats Haley as expected, he’ll face Democrat Joe Biden in a much-ballyhooed rematch of the 2020 election.
