It’s not clear whether or not Taylor Swift will be in attendance for Wednesday’s parade in Kansas City as the city celebrates the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVIII victory on Sunday night. But it sounds like the mere possibility that Swift could be in attendance for Wednesday’s festivities is already causing some problems for the city.
As the city prepares for Wednesday’s festivities, Kansas City Manager Brian Platt opened up about the “issues” caused by the chance that Taylor Swift could attend the parade.
“That’s gonna be a whole second level of security issues that we have to deal with — the crowds and all that sort of thing,” Platt said. “So we are more than ready. We have no concerns with our safety protocols and what we’re doing to make sure that the route will be free of any issues.”
In fact, it sounds like the city might have even politely suggested that it would be best if Swift did not attend the parade.
“I can’t confirm or deny but we might have already told that to her team, just to keep everybody safe and make things a little bit easier for us,” Platt said.
Whether she attends or not, it’s clear she’s already causing issues, leading to a lot of reactions on social media.
I doubt she’ll be there anyway. She has a show in Australia on Friday. Melbourne is 16 hours ahead (depending on your time zone) and she’s got a 21 hour flight plus she has to account for jet lag.

I don't blame him….this is for the TEAM, the city/fans ….if she's there it takes away from the purpose because im sure the swifties will out number all else just to get a glimpse

It would be the right thing to do. She's great and I love her, but KC won the Super Bowl and she would be a distraction to some who would come only to see her and not honor these athletes.

It's going to be huge local crowd anyway. Add to that the masses of people that would come from miles away just to see or catch a glimpse of Taylor Swift. The city probably doesn't want to deal with it.
