Twice in three years, the Buffalo Bills were eliminated from the NFL playoffs by Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. But Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins thinks this time will be different, because Mahomes and the Chiefs have never played in Buffalo in this environment.

A lot has been made about the fact that this will be the first road playoff game for Patrick Mahomes, but as Dion Dawkins points out, Mahomes actually hasn’t played in Bills Stadium with fans in the stands. The only time Mahomes has played in Buffalo was during the 2020 season when no fans were allowed in attendance due to COVID-19 protocols.

So as Dawkins puts it, Mahomes “has never been to the Bills’ stadium in full.” And as both teams prepare, he has a blunt message for Mahomes as he faces a full Bills’ Stadium for the first time: “Good luck.”

“The environment will be different and not to say it’s in our favor, but stadium is our favor,” Dawkins said according to Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com. “Stadium is us. That helps us. I don’t care what nobody says. This is the most dopest feeling I’ve ever had. We’re having two back-to-back playoff games home. Come on now, like we get to leave and go eat wings. It’s cool. So good luck.”

We’ll have to see how Mahomes performs.
