Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day has faced a lot of criticism the past few seasons in Columbus after three consecutive losses to the Michigan Wolverines and no conference championships since 2020. The team’s struggles have led some restless fans to suggest that he should be fired, but it sounds like new athletic director Ross Bjork has decided otherwise.

During his introductory press conference on Wednesday, new Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork announced that he has full confidence in Ryan Day as Ohio State’s head football coach.

“This guy right here, Coach Day,” Bjork said, pointing to Day in the audience, according to Eleven Warriors. “He’s gonna get it done and it’s gonna be a lot of fun when we win those championships.”

Bjork went on to praise Day for his ability as both a football strategist and a team leader.

“Brilliant mind in the game of football,” Bjork said of Day. “High-level leader. Knows what championship football looks like, knows how to put all of those pieces together. We get it. The Game matters. So he and I talked about that and the best thing that I can do is lock arms with him.”

Ohio State looks to have one of the most talented rosters in the entire country headed into the 2023 college football season. We’ll have to see if Day can lead the team to the national title the program so clearly covets.
