Typically, when NFL teams conduct interviews for potential head coaching candidates, they don’t reveal much information about the process or which candidates they are interviewing. But in a pretty surprising turn of events, that’s not the approach the Los Angeles Chargers are taking with Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh.
On Monday afternoon, the Los Angeles Chargers actually announced on social media that they had interviewed Jim Harbaugh for the head coaching vacancy.
“we’ve completed an interview with Jim Harbaugh for head coach,” the Los Angeles Chargers official account said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

The account also shared a link to a particularly flattering article written by team writer Omar Navarro titled “5 Things to Know About Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh,” which included items like “He’s a winner” and “An iconic football family.”
While it was no secret that the Chargers were interviewing Harbaugh on Monday as it was widely reported throughout the league, it is certainly significant to see a team be so open about one of their potential candidates, going as far as to share a positive news article about the potential coach.
Perhaps this indicates that the interview went well.
