After benching Russell Wilson for the final two games of the season, the Denver Broncos will be in need of a new starting quarterback this offseason. But after taking over for Wilson for the final two games of the season, Jarrett Stidham seems to think that he should be considered for that role.
During a press conference this week, Jarrett Stidham had a pretty clear message for the Denver Broncos as they consider their options at quarterback next season.
“I’m very confident I can be the guy for us next season. I have no doubts about that,” Stidham said on Monday according to Nick Kosmider of The Athletic. “I’ll be back in April ready to rock. I’m excited for the opportunity.”
In his two games as a starter this season, Stidham completed 60.6 percent of his passes for 496 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, leading the team to a win over the Los Angeles Chargers but suffering a loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.
It remains unclear exactly what the Broncos plan to do at the quarterback position and whether or not they will bring someone else in. But Stidham has made it very clear that he intends to compete for that starting quarterback role.
