Bronny James entered his first season of college basketball with a lot of hype as a five-star prospect and the son of NBA megastar LeBron James, but it sounds like his head coach wants fans to be a little patient with the young star.
During a press conference this week, USC Trojans head coach Andy Enfield called for patience with Bronny James this season, especially after a medical scare over the summer kept him out of practice and off the basketball court for about five months.
“As I said, he’s improved but it’s a little unfair to him to be judging him every possession right now,” Enfield said according to On3. “He’s come back and it was good minutes tonight, played very hard, he was t more comfortable. He’s a freshman and he’s been out for five months. Very, very challenging for him. But we anticipate he will be a much better player by the middle of the season than he is now.”
James has played two games so far this season, scoring four points in a loss to Long Beach State and five points in a loss to the Auburn Tigers. We’ll have to see how he develops for the rest of the season.
