The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Los Angeles Chargers, 20-17, on the latest edition of Monday Night Football.

The win didn’t come easy for the Cowboys, as they become the latest team to fail in replicating the Philadelphia Eagles’ infamous “tush push” play on a 4th and inches situation.

ESPN announcer Troy Aikman opined that the Eagles are the only team to have figured out how to consistently execute the play.

After the game, Prescott gave an hilarious answer as to why the play failed with the Cowboys:

The NFL world was quick to react to the hilarious response.

“Man really said ‘go deeper.’ Abolish this play,” wrote one fan on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

“Phrasing is funny. But this is actually accurate. Looking at that play, that’s a big part of what went wrong,” another fan wrote.

“I know we have some volunteers here who would push the tush just enough! Am I lyin’ ladies?” asked one female football fan.

“Probably one of the best statements ever from Dak,” wrote one Cowboys fan.

One fan, however, disagreed with Prescott’s assessment of what went wrong on the play.

“The real key is how low the OL are supposed to be. If y’all watch Philly their line gets completely lower than their opponent along with the fact they are a good unit.”
