The New York Jets have not gotten off to the start that they would have liked this 2023 NFL season, beginning the year with just a 2-3 record with the offense struggling following the season-ending injury to quarterback Aaron Rodgers. But while the offense has sputtered, the team’s defense has been absolutely dominant – particularly in the secondary.

As NFL analyst Steve Palazzolo of Pro Football Focus points out, the New York Jets have been legitimately dominant this season against some of the top quarterbacks in the entire league.

“PFF passing grades against the Jets this season:

Dak Prescott 66.7
Mac Jones 57.8
Josh Allen 52.3
Patrick Mahomes 48.4
Russell Wilson 43.5

Jets held Allen, Mahomes, and Wilson to their worst grades of the season,” Palazzolo said in a post on X, the social media website that is formerly known as Twitter.

Those are pretty dominant numbers from the New York Jets defense and it’s pretty insane news that they’ve held Allen, Mahomes and Wilson to their worst performances of the season. And it generated a lot of conversation on social media as a result.

Unfortunately for the Jets defense, they haven’t gotten much support from their offense so far this season. We’ll have to see if that changes as the year goes on and Zach Wilson gets more comfortable.
