The Trump Organization announced the sale of its long-term lease of the oft-troubled Ferry Point Park golf course in Manhattan to the Bally’s Corporation on Tuesday.

“While we had no prior intention of selling this trophy asset, Bally’s Corporation stepped in and made us an exceptional offer,” said Eric Trump, the middle son of former President Donald Trump.

The former president and the New York City Parks Department reached the deal last month, according to CNN. Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Bally’s would assume operations immediately.

New York City had tried and failed to purchase the property from Trump after the events at the Capitol Building on January 6th, 2021. Bally’s Corporation plans to strip the Trump name from the course, as it reportedly believes that will help its chances with state gambling regulators to open a casino in the Bronx.

New York City Comptroller Brad Lander, a Democrat, didn’t waste the chance to send an absolutely brutal message to the former president.

“I am delighted that Trump’s name will no longer deface city parkland,” he told CNN.

In a statement about the sale, the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation said it was “supportive of the transfer of the Ferry Point Golf Course to Bailly’s” and “confident they will deliver a high-quality golfing experience to New Yorkers.”
